Robert D. Douglas, Age 83, died January 3rd, 2018, at Park Villa, Clyde, surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Clyde, Kansas to Leland and Gladys (Hyland) Douglas on January 5th, 1934. He married Rachel M. (Sager) Douglas, on May 26th, 1956. He joined the Army in 1956, and served his country for 2 years. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, outdoor activities, and spending time with family.
Survivors include his children: Sons : Darrell and wife Maria of Wichita. Bradley and his husband Michael Jacobs of Kansas City, Missouri. Daughter Shirley Slansky and husband Brian of Hastings, Nebraska. 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kenneth and Danny, and sister, Marjorie Jean, wife Rachel, son Brian, grandson Jeremy, great grandson Christian, and nephew Loch, niece Peggy.
Graveside service with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Clyde, Kansas.
The family selected cremation. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice or Wounded Warrior Project in care of Nutter Mortuary, 116 E. 6th, Concordia, Kansas 66901.
