Michael Genette

Michael Gennette left this world on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia, KS. He was born on August 26, 1941 in Concordia, KS.

He graduated from the Notre Dame High School, and then joined the United States Air Force. He worked for Tony’s Pizza in Salina, KS, Desk Inc. in Denver, CO, and Hertz Rental in Wichita, KS before retiring back in Concordia with his store “Mr. Thrifty’s”.  His dog’s Pop and Topper were his life. Mike was a great brother, uncle and friend; he never met a stranger and he gave everyone the benefit of the doubt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Ila (Huntsinger) Gennette, and sister Cindy Breault, niece Tammy Davis & nephew Trevor Gennette

He is survived by his siblings Janice Gordon, Newton, KS; Debbie Sallman (Karl), Clifton, KS, Patty Davis, Jack Gennette (Barbara), Greg Gennette, Tom Gennette, Susan Nemechek, Todd Gennette, all of Concordia, KS; and brother in law Danny Breault of Alabama, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Mike’s wish to be cremated and the family will hold a private memorial.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the O’Connor Animal Shelter in Concordia, KS in care of Nutter Mortuary.
