Merridy M. King

Merridy M. King, age 84, of Concordia, Kansas died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Presbyterian Manor, in Topeka, KS. She was born August 3, 1930 in Concordia, KS. to Lawrence and Catherine (Boucher) Bailey.

She was united in marriage to Raymond King on November 23, 1949 at the Evangelical United Brethen Church at Concordia, KS. He preceded her in death Feb. 22, 2013. Merridy graduated from Concordia High School in 1947. She received a BS Degree from Marymount College - Salina and a Masters Degree from K-State - Manhattan. She was a high school science teacher for many years.

She was a member of: Trinity United Methodist Church; Ophel Chapter of Eastern Star - Belleville; Daughters of the Nile of Salina; DAR; Lifetime member of NEA and American Chemical Association.

daughter Laurel King & Friend Greg Hughes - Topeka, KS
son Galen (Irene) King - Lafayette, IN.
granddaughters Erin (Keith) Robinson - Topeka, KS.
Jessica Brunken - Topeka, KS.
grandsons Aaron (Rebecca) King - Cincinnati, Ohio
Seth King - Lafayette, IN.
sister Burney Lou (Elburn) Mendenhall - Topeka, KS

Preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister.
Funeral Services will be Monday, August 11, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church - Concordia, KS., at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Koechner officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery - Concordia, KS.

Visitation will be sunday, August 10, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Nutter Chapel.
