Franklin Dean Campbell, 78, of Concordia, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, at home.
Frank was born at home in the Hollis community, on May 23, 1934, to Gaylord and Fern Campbell. He graduated from Concordia High School in 1954 and then served in the US Army. He married Myrna Koehn in 1957 and returned to the family farm to help his parent's farm and to raise a family. He retired from the Cloud Ceramics.
Frank is survived by his wife, Myrna; daughter, Frances Wood and husband Toni of Glen Elder; son G. John Campbell and wife Anna, of Salina; 5 grandchildren: Nicholas Wood, Glen Elder; April Easterberg of Russell; Bryce Wood, of McPherson; Bridget Hoeft and husband, Jeff, of Omaha, NE; and Ethan Campbell, of Salina; and 2 great-grandchildren: Jlunn Easterberg of Plainville; and McKenna Hoeft, of Omaha, NE. He was also survived by 2 brothers: John L. Campbell and wife Ruth, of Greenville, SC; Robert Campbell and wife Linda, of Salina; 2 sisters: Marilyn Goodwin, of Concordia and Norma Price, of Clyde; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Fern Campbell; brother, Gaylord Jr. Campbell; and great-grandson Jace Easterberg.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Memorial service with Military Honors by VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76, will be at 10 p.m. Wednesday July 11, at the Nutter Funeral Home. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Pastor Kelly Benton, of Leon, KS will be officiating, Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons international and to Meadowlark Hospice.
