Donald E. Hamel

Don Hamel, age 88, of Concordia, KS., died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Salina Regional Health Center. He was born April 5, 1925 to Alderic and Jeannette (Provost) Hamel.
Don married Edna Labarge May 10, 1948. She died June 14, 1954. He farmed; was manager of Co-op Station at Clifton, Clyde and Concordia. Worked for maintenance at Cloud County Courthouse and was an employee at Nutter Mortuary until retirement.
Don was a member of OLPH Catholic Church - Concordia and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by: Daughter - Sheila (Gerald) Collins -Concordia, KS
Grandsons - Marc Collins
Luke (Candice) Collins
Great grandsons - Braxton & Jaxson Collins.
Preceded in death by: parents, wife and sister - Florene Carlson
Funeral services will be Monday, March 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at OLPH
Catholic Church - Concordia with Father Brian Lager as celebrant.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Nutter Mortuary Chapel from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to: Guardians of St. Joseph Church or
Marquis Place.
