Darlyne G. (Nutter) Lampert, 96, of Concordia, Kan., passed away Jan. 30, 2014, at her home. Darlyne was born Nov. 23, 1917, in rural Republic County, near Talmo, Kan., the daughter of John N. Nutter and Matilda J. (Forney) Nutter. Darlyne was a graduate of Concordia High School, class of 1935.
She was a Registered Nurse serving in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Lieutenant with the American Nurse Corps. On Jan. 4, 1945, she married Dr. Herbert H. Lampert, M.D., at Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1970. She and her husband were survivors of the Italian luxury liner Andrea Doria which sank in 1956 in the Atlantic Ocean.
Darlyne and Herb had one daughter, Torey Jo Lampert, who preceded them in death in 1967. She was also preceded by six brothers and five sisters. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. It was Darlyne's wishes to be cremated and inurnment will be held at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Glendale, N.Y.
