Charles A. “Pete” Peterson, Concordia, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, KS. He was 87. Charles was born June 9, 1929 at Belleville, KS, the son of Adolph F. Peterson and Rhoda A. (Holiday) Peterson.

Charles graduated from Concordia High School in 1947. He married LaDonna Owen on August 29, 1948 at Concordia, KS. Charles worked at Fairmont Foods as a shop foreman, worked at Everitt’s Hardware & Sporting goods where he worked as a gunsmith and locksmith. He later worked for U.S.D. 333 where he worked in maintenance, retiring in 1993.

Charles was a member of and raced with the Dustdevils. Other memberships include: N.R.A.; lifetime member of the Cloud County Historical Museum; Midwest Antique car club, Salina, KS; Drifting Clouds Campers Club; Pony Expresser’s Campers Club; Kansas Campers Club; Campers & R.V.r’s Club.

Survivors include:           Wife: LaDonna Peterson, of the home

Son: Clayton Peterson & wife Jayme – Concordia, KS

2 Daughters: Linda Bogart & husband David – Concordia, KS

Marcia Cleavenger & husband Joel – Salina, KS

8 Grandchildren: Kenton (Geri) Bogart; Jeff Bogart (Brandy Eubanks); Michelle Speake (Greg); Vicki Truksa (Jessie); Valerie Ristau (Shane); Michael Peterson (Angie); Jennifer Motl (Larry); and Jordan Bulleigh. 17 Great grandchildren and 1 Great-Great grandchild.

Preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Jim Bulleigh. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Nutter Mortuary. Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary.

Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS
