Charles W. Leckberg, age 90, of Concordia, KS, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at his home.
He was born October 23, 1921, to Herman and Mildred (Davis) Leckberg at Concordia, KS.
Charles married Virginia Hubbell on March 13, 1953, at Stevenson, WA. They had two daughters, Linda Sue and Shirley Ann. He was a civil engineer with the federal government in California, returning to Kansas to farm. He moved to Concordia in 2004. Charles was a member of the First Christian Church. VFW #588, American Legion Post #76 and NARFE.
Survivors: Wife, Virginia of the home; two daughters, Linda Sue Goernandt, Overland Park, KS; Shirley Ann Hoxeng, Volin, SD; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by: parents and one sister.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 10:30a.m. at Nutter Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jeff Nielsen officiating. Interment will be at the Morrison Cemetery, rural Concordia, KS, with military honors by VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76.
Visitation will be Friday, April 6, 2012, from 1-8 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Meadowlark Hospice or First Christian Church. Condolences may be sent to nuttermortuary@yahoo.com.
