Beulah Gatlin McVey was born on July 26, 1926 to John and Margaret McGuire Gatlin. She died on January 29, 2021 at Glasco, Kansas.
Beulah was married to Elmer McVey on January 31, 1942 at Garden City, KS, where they lived before moving to Lakin, KS. They lived at CIG Gas Plant in Lakin and raised 7 children – Gloria, Alan, Dennis, Jerry, Sherri Kay, Terry and Karla. They moved to Garden City in 1968 before moving to Miltonvale, KS.
Beulah worked at the Lakin Hospital in the dietary department and St Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City, KS. She made beautiful wedding cakes and birthday cakes for many family and friends.
She is survived by daughter Karla Carlgren (Wade Garner) of Miltonvale, son Dennis (Naomi) of Dodge City, KS; Son Jerry of Lawrence, KS; son Terry (Michelle) of Frisco, TX; and two sisters Doris Warren of Clay Center, KS; and Pauline Puterbaugh of Salida, Colorado; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, two daughters Sherry Kay and Gloria McVey Lefort; one son, Alan; grandson Jeffrey Lefort; two infant granddaughters; son-in-law Charles Lefort; daughter-in-law Marie Danler McVey.
Memorial Services for Beulah McVey will be Wednesday Feb. 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Miltonvale Christian Church. Nutter Mortuary, Concordia is handling arrangements
