Althea M. Bowyer

Althea M. Bowyer, age 83, of Concordia, KS., died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Salina Regional Health Center.
She was born February 21, 1929 to Webster and Lottie (Schmidt) Janke at rural Woodbine, KS.
Althea graduated from Chapman High School. She married Vernon Bowyer on July 24, 1949. He preceded her in death May 29, 1998. They owned and operated the Gamble Store in Concordia from 1970 - 1992.
Althea was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and The Social Order of Beauseant.
She is survived by 3 sons: Stanley (Vicki) Bowyer - Salina, KS
Joel (Dawn) Bowyer - Concordia, KS
Lyle (Bonnie) Bowyer - Ottawa, KS
1 Brother: Allen Janke - Manhattan
6 grandchildren
3 great grandchildren
Proceeded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church - Concordia, KS., with Pastor Tessa Zehring officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary Chapel.
Memorial may be given to First United Methodist Church.
